Dear friends,
During the last few months we have been challenged in ways that we never imagined would happen. Our lives have been upended and we have struggled to learn a new normal as we fight the Covid-10 virus. In May we were hopeful that we had made the progress required so we could re-open our communities and celebrate mass again. During this time you as parishioners have been amazing. You studied and followed our protocols to keep us safe. You endured very hot masses during the hottest month of the year. You supported the parish and each other in wonderful ways that should make you very proud. However, in spite our amazing efforts, the virus has returned with a vengeance. Because of this Bishop Weisenburger has once again closed our churches in response to the spike in cases that is hurting our communities. Because of this I must inform you that Starting today July 1st we will suspend all masses and public gatherings of more than 10 people. It is our hope that we will be able to return to public worship by August. The reality is we will have to wait and see.
In the meantime we will continue to have funerals with 10 people only. We will have marriages celebrated with the same restrictions. We will also offer our “drive by confessions” when we can. Watch for announcements on our webpage and flock notes for times for confessions. Our offices will be open now only on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm. No one will be allowed in without an appointment and a temperature check.
Some Good News
I happy to report that we will still be allowed to offer communion on Sundays. Our new time is from 9 am until 11 am for all who watch the mass on YouTube or other masses around the country. Following the viewing of the mass you can come over to the church for the celebration of the Eucharist. As always you must ware a mask and leave the property after you receive the Eucharist.
I know this is sad news and it can be truly depressing. However, we need to put our trust in God knowing that he will guide us through these challenging times. Working together we will come through this stronger that we ever imagined. However we now need to follow St. Paul’s wonder advise to the Romans: Be Joyful in Faith, patient in adversity and faithful in prayer”
May God continue to bless you and keep you and your families safe.
Yours in the Savior,
Fr. Tom
Most Holy Trinity.
